It is considered a compliment if a Ugandan tells you that you’re fat. The popular female ideal is much more curvaceous here than in American fashion magazines.
I always find it really weird that almost all the mannequins here are white– and extremely creepy. I think they come second-hand from the US and Europe along with all the used clothing that gets re-sold in markets here.
