7 things.

More detailed stuff about work soon, but a quick list instead for now.

This week I:

1. Went to Kenya…

…where I went on bumper cars, saw Kung Fu Panda in the movie theatre, and went to hear live Luo music (yes, the Luo are Barack Obama’s father’s tribe, and, let me tell you, they are OBSESSED. There are lots of babies named Obama these days and probably more Obama bumper stickers than in the US- people are very psyched and proud!). Photos to come!

2. Took in an itty bitty kitten…

…who had been left for dead in the road. I definitely don’t want to think of myself as a cat lady, but I’ve got admit that this little guy is super cute. He can fit in my one hand and lovingly follows my every step around the house, clawing my ankles raw. He doesn’t yet have a name- suggestions?

3. Ate boiled cow intestines…

….for the second time. This second opportunity to try them confirmed to me that I think they are gross.

4. Made pizza…

…on my charcoal stove, like so:

So far I’ve also been able to use this method to make cakes, muffins, brownies, and cookies

5. Named a baby girl…

…of a close friend and co-worker.

6. Trained my favorite village savings and loan group…

…which I will describe further in another post. Let’s just say this is one of the cooler things that I do.

7. Watched as my neighbor, the witch doctor, struggled to catch a monkey from his tree…

…and failed. Crafty monkey.
